The PDRMA Health Program provides quality health benefits to more than 1,400 employees
and their dependents at 70 locations. Our pooling program helps members
meet the difficult challenge of providing employee health benefits at an affordable
cost.
PDRMA has endeavored to keep the health plan attractive and competitive while
still affordable. In general terms, our Health Program's product is very
competitive and progressive. It includes a large national provider network,
90% in-network coverage, an HMO option through Blue Cross Blue Shield, a prescription card managed by a nationally recognized
pharmacy benefit manager, an employee assistance program, and optional dental
and vision coverage.
There are additional components to PDRMA's product that distinguish it
from the ordinary: Our extensive member services and training. This includes eligibility administration, orientation and training, COBRA administration, continuation of benefits
for retirees administration, HIPAA compliance training, and other regulatory compliance management.
All members of the Property/Casualty Program have the additional benefit of
the ability to move funds between programs when necessary. With health and workers'
compensation administered by the same organization, there are other financial
efficiencies as well.
Our Wellness Program operates on the same principles and concepts
that have made PDRMA's traditional risk management program so successful (i.e.,
controlling losses by managing risks). However, the Health Program's goal is to eliminate or mitigate health risks. The
program takes a comprehensive wellness approach that
includes prevention, disease management, and case management strategies as well
as training, education and resources.
