Get Ready to Go Green for Open Enrollment 2022!

Everyone knows if it's fall, it’s time for Open Enrollment (OE), when we need to decide which healthcare coverages are best for us and our dependents. This year, OE runs Nov. 15 through Dec. 1 — and you can complete the entire process online! Yes, this year we’re having a completely paperless Open Enrollment and GOING GREEN using PlanSource’s My Benefits Portal.

Make sure your providers are in-network

You can click here now to determine if your current PPO providers will be in-network with BCBSIL’s Participating Provider Organization network next year or find new in-network providers. In the drop-down menu for Plans, select the Participating Provider Organization (PPO) option, then type in your provider's name or look for names using “browse by category.”

As always, your Benefits Coordinator (BC) is available to help you throughout OE, and if you do not remember your username and password to access My Benefits Portal, your BC can help with that. You can get to the portal after logging in to the PDRMA website and going to the Health drop-down menu in the top navigation. Then click My Benefits Portal. If you don’t remember your password, you can get a jump on things by resetting it now, so you’re ready to log in and make your decisions Nov. 15!

There are some important changes and options you should keep in mind during OE 2022. Attend your agency’s Open Enrollment meeting to learn all the details:

  • PPO plan will move to the BlueCross BlueShield of Illinois (BCBSIL) Participating Provider Organization network, and BCBSIL will also be our new claim administrator beginning Jan. 1, 2022. Our HMO plan will continue to use BCBSIL’s HMO Illinois network.
  • Full voluntary life insurance is available. This means you can elect and/or increase coverage without any medical underwriting or exams. Take advantage of this rare opportunity if you want employee, partner or child voluntary term life insurance.
  • PlanSource has an app for that! You can download the app and use your same username and password as for the My Benefits Portal to complete OE on the app!

NOTE: COBRA/IMRF continuation participants will complete OE offline, and we will mail them their Open Enrollment packets.
