2019 Pilot Program Is Underway
The latest Loss Control Review (LCR) evaluation resulted in the development of a pilot program in 2019 to address changes in PDRMA membership, technology, loss exposure and claims needs. Working together, PDRMA staff, an LCR Sub-committee and the Risk Management Committee created the two-year plan to roll out the new program.
“A lot of member feedback focused on the traditional LCR process being front‐loaded with significant time devoted to identifying risk and exposure,” explains Tim Lenac, PDRMA Risk Management Services Supervisor. “We addressed that specifically in this pilot, creating a more balanced and flexible approach while still providing quality field service.”
What to expect in 2019
Members will be part of Pilot Group A or Pilot Group B this year. Group A consists of those agencies scheduled for an LCR in 2019, and Group B includes all other members. (A complete list of Pilot Group A agencies is available on the Loss Control Review Resources page of the website.) During the pilot, PDRMA staff will collect feedback, evaluate the process and review results to fine tune and incorporate any necessary elements into the 2020 launch.
PDRMA staff will contact members of each pilot group during the second quarter of 2019 to schedule kickoff meetings. Specific dates and information will be available during the Feb. 25 webinar update.
Pilot program incentives
Incentives will continue to be part of the process during the 2019 pilots, and the Risk Management Committee and PDRMA staff will continue to evaluate the long-term incentive structure. For this year, incentives will follow these guidelines:
- LCR scores remain at the level of the most recent LCR evaluation. Financial incentives are:
- Level A — 95 to 100 percent — $1,500.
- Level B — 90 to 94.99 percent — $1,000.
- Level C — 85 to 89.99 percent — $500.
- Members scheduled for a 2019 LCR (Pilot Group A) who meet the current LCR loss-to-premium criteria qualify to receive PDRMA Incentive Wear clothing.
