Submit a 2023 Risk Management Grant and Recognition Application Now

Nothing can stop an idea whose time has come — especially when there’s an opportunity to score cash grants of between $500 and $2,500! The Risk Management Grant and Recognition Program will once again reward PDRMA members this year for the best and/or creative ways to manage or mitigate risk.

“As agencies begin developing their SMART goals and annual activity action items this spring, it’s a great time to think about how a potential grant could help you reach your Risk Management Review goals,” observes Lindsey Robertson, PDRMA Risk Management Consultant. “As you plan, keep an eye out for ideas that could help your agency implement and/or recognize innovative and cost-effective safety projects or programs. Ideas tied to injury prevention, fleet exposure, employment practices and/or pollution are all loss and exposure-based cost drivers that can be the foundation of a grant submission. Email up to two grant applications by Friday, Sept. 1, and see if you have some winning ideas!”

What To Do

Person completing a form.Simply fill out a Risk Management Grant and Recognition Program Submission Form (1610) with your safety ideas (one per form, a maximum of two ideas/forms per agency), and submit it to RMGrant@pdrma.org by Sept. 1. PDRMA’s Risk Management Committee will review the grant proposals and can choose to award multiple grants up to a total of $15,000 annually. Grants start at $500 and increase in $250 increments to a maximum of $2,500 per award. We’ll announce 2023 winners later in the year.

Good observational skills and a safety mindset along with a couple hours or so to fill out each form can pay off with new equipment and a safer park district for everyone! Even a well-placed sign can score a win, so don’t think any idea is too small.
