What’s New with Your Delta Dental Benefits?

Don’t forget about the carryover benefit through Delta Dental when you’re planning your dental care for this year and next. Delta Dental’s carryover benefit gives you more flexibility in how you plan and use your care. Eligible PDRMA Health Plan participants can carry over a portion of unused dental benefits, so you’re no longer limited by a “use-it-or-lose-it” approach.

How Does the Carryover Benefit Work?

PDRMA’s dental plan includes an annual maximum of $2,000 for covered services through the Delta Dental network. If you were covered for a full plan-year and have at least one claim during that year, you may carry over up to $1,200 of unused benefits into the next year. This means you could have up to $3,200 available for future dental care.

Why This Matters

This added flexibility can make it easier to plan for larger or more complex procedures. Instead of feeling pressure to use benefits within a single year, you can:

  • Plan ahead for higher-cost treatments.
  • Reduce potential out-of-pocket expenses.
  • Make more thoughtful decisions about your care timeline.

Make the Most of Your Benefits

Take a proactive approach to your dental care and maximize this benefit! Consider reviewing your current and future care needs, and work with your provider to create a plan that makes the most of your available coverage.
