RMR Update

After two years of development and a global pandemic, the Risk Management Review (RMR) formally debuts in 2022, with a five-year schedule approved by the Risk Management Committee (RMC).

“It’s been a long process, because we wanted to pilot all aspects of the RMR,” says Tim Lenac, PDRMA Risk Management Services Supervisor. “Doing that allowed us to modify it — and the forms we developed in conjunction with the National Safety Council — based on member feedback. We also ensured agencies had an opportunity to use the new in2vate software platform. Our pilot wrapped up at the end of 2021 with agencies completing the new Slip, Trip and Fall Self-assessment form. The data we collected gives us global member information we can analyze in the software platform. This year, we’ll focus on having Special Recreation Associations complete our updated Fleet form and ask park districts, forest preserves and conservation districts to complete the revised Injury Prevention form for their maintenance departments.

“The new RMR forms and in2vate platform will help us collect and analyze membership-wide data to identify risk and claim trends,” Lenac explains. “Working together with members, we’ll be able to address those trends to generate results both in safety and savings.”
