Color Your Agency Safer in 2026

The Risk Management Review color-coded scoring system provides an easy-to-understand color “rating” for each agency’s 2025 performance. The colors — Green, Blue, Yellow, Orange, Red — indicate agency strengths and areas for improvement.

Kicking Off 2026

During 2026, agencies that received a Green, Blue or Yellow rating on their 2025 Essentials of Risk Management Form (ERMF) will focus on improving in the areas identified. Agencies with an Orange or Red rating will work with their PDRMA Risk Management Consultant (RMC) to complete the ERMF again in 2026. This PDRMA/member collaboration helps identify needs, outlines next steps and develops solutions. During their Kickoff Meetings, these agencies will work with their RMCs to set deadlines to address specific areas.

Financial Incentive Update

You should have received your 2026 Kickoff emails and forms from your Risk Management Consultant by Jan. 31. The email includes information about your agency’s 2026 potential financial incentive award. The total incentive is based on two areas of performance:

1. 2025 ERMF Rating.
   Your agency can earn up to 75 percent of its potential incentive based on its final rating on the 2025 ERMF and completing ERMF Action Items. (Refer to your Kickoff email for details about your specific incentive.)
2. Other Activities.
   Your agency can earn the remaining 25 percent when your agency:
• Returns the 2026 Kickoff Form within 10 days of receiving it.
• Completes the full Kickoff Process by April 1, 2026.
• Completes agreed-upon activities and SMART Goal Action Steps by the specified deadlines.

Review your 2026 Kickoff Form to understand your financial incentive and action items. Make sure to complete the Kickoff Process by April 1, 2026.

Key 2026 Dates

• January 2026: Kickoff Forms sent to agencies based on specific needs.
• April 1, 2026: All agencies complete their Kickoff Meeting by this date.
• December 2026: Final financial incentives distributed based on completing agreed-upon activities.

Remember, your agency’s 2026 financial incentive is based on both the rating of your completed 2025 ERMF and timely completion of Kickoff Action Items.
