It’s Always a Good Time for Training
As winter recedes and agencies begin shifting into high gear — preparing staff, equipment, facilities and programming for the surge of spring and summer activity — there’s still time to take advantage of training opportunities.
“Popular topics, such as day camp and mowing, are of growing interest as warm weather arrives,” notes Bill Hooker, PDRMA Property/Casualty Program Special Projects Supervisor. “Each year thousands of children attend agency camps and tens of thousands of acres of parks are mowed.” The possibility of something wrong happening in frequently performed activities is high, so ongoing training is critical.
Don’t forget other PDRMA training available to help you and your team. “We have both streaming and videos on our website,” adds Hooker, “and remember to have staff complete a sign-in sheet after watching any video, so you can track their completed trainings.”
